Big Bass Vegas 1000 slot: what sets it apart

Big Bass Vegas 1000 is Reel Kingdom's release for Pragmatic Play that moves the fishing series to the Las Vegas Strip: neon, a pink boat, flamingos and a fisherman in sunglasses holding playing cards. It is not built from scratch. It is the 1000 version of Big Bass Vegas Double Down Deluxe, with the same skeleton and a money fish that now reaches much higher.

What really separates it from the rest of the series is the pair of Fisherman Wilds, one blue and one red. Each colour fills its own meter and raises its own multiplier, so the free spins round has two tracks running side by side instead of one. My read: this is the gentlest Big Bass in the 1000 line, with steadier sessions and a lower ceiling than its siblings.

Big Bass Vegas 1000 base game with three rods on line 4 and money fish on the right

The screenshot shows a typical base-game spin at a 2.00 bet: three rods pay 4.00 on line 4 and the fish display their values, but nobody collects them. With no fisherman on screen, those amounts are not paid.

How to play Big Bass Vegas 1000: 10 fixed lines

All ten lines are always active and none can be switched off. Wins form from left to right starting on the first reel, with three or more matching symbols; the pink boat is the only regular symbol that pays for two. Only the highest win on each line counts, and winning lines are added together.

There are no cascades or tumbling symbols: each spin is settled once. The scatter lands on all five reels. When two scatters land without a third, the game can randomly help in two ways: a respin in which the reels holding scatters move down one position while the others spin again, or a hook that pulls a reel up to reveal another scatter.

To spin, set the bet with the plus and minus buttons and press the centre button. On a computer the space bar and Enter work as well.

Big Bass Vegas 1000 paytable

The values below are multiples of the total bet. I converted them from the in-game table, which shows cash amounts for the chosen bet, as in the screenshot below, taken at a 2.00 bet.

Q, J, 105x1x0.2x

Two boats pay 0.5x, the same as two Fisherman Wilds on a line during free spins. The fish pays as a regular symbol in the base game and also carries a money value that only matters inside the round.

Money fish: values from 2x to 1,000x

Every fish that lands takes a random value for that spin: 2x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x or 1,000x the base bet. There are no in-between steps of 200x or 500x, as some guides claim. The golden 1,000x fish is the one the game is named after.

Big Bass Vegas 1000 rules for the money symbol and free spins on the help screen

The detail that confuses people most: those values can only be won during free spins, because Fisherman Wilds do not appear in the base game. And even inside the round, a fish with no fisherman does not pay its value.

Big Bass Vegas 1000 golden 1,000x fish worth 2,000.00 with no fisherman to collect it

The screenshot proves it: at a 2.00 bet the 2,000.00 fish lands next to five other fish, and the spin ends without collecting any of them because no fisherman landed.

Red and blue fisherman: two separate meters

The Fisherman Wild lands on every reel, but only during free spins. It substitutes for all symbols except the scatter and the money fish, and each fisherman that lands collects the sum of every fish in view.

Blue and red do the same job. The difference is in the bookkeeping: blue ones are stored on the blue meter above the reels, red ones on the red meter below. Each colour's multiplier applies only to what that colour collects. It is not true that red pays more by default; it pays more only when its meter is further along.

Big Bass Vegas 1000 free spins with a red fisherman, a blue fisherman and their two progress meters

In the image both colours landed on the same spin with a single 4.00 fish on screen: each fisherman collects it separately and moves one step along its own meter.

Free spins with 2x, 3x and 10x multipliers

The starting number of spins depends on how many scatters trigger the round. From there, every fourth fisherman of the same colour retriggers it: spins are added and that colour's multiplier goes up.

1Start1xNone
242x+10
383x+10
41210x+10

Once a meter reaches level four it no longer retriggers anything. Because there are two meters, the round allows up to six retriggers, three per colour. That corrects a figure repeated online: the limit is not 55 spins. With 25 starting spins and all six steps completed, the theoretical maximum is 85, although filling both meters is very rare.

Free spins use special reels. According to the rules, if the total win of the round reaches the cap, the round ends at once and the remaining spins are forfeited.

Bazooka and dynamite feature: random helpers

Inside free spins there are three helpers that can fire at the end of a spin. They are random: none can be triggered on purpose or anticipated.

Some guides credit the base game with instant prizes, extra Wilds and random 2x to 10x multipliers. They do not exist. The only base-game helpers are the two scatter features described above.

Ante Bet and Super Free Spins buy

The left-hand panel offers three ways to pay to reach the round sooner. Costs are calculated on the base bet.

Buy Super Free Spins450xThe same, and each level needs 3 fishermen instead of 496.53%

My view: the Ante Bet is the reasonable option if you want to see the round more often without paying 100 bets in one go. The 450x buy is expensive and only guarantees entry; a Super round can also return very little. Feature buys are not available in every jurisdiction.

Big Bass Vegas 1000 RTP and medium volatility

The rules screen gives the theoretical RTP for each mode and describes medium volatility this way: steady payouts with a range that runs from low to very high. Pragmatic Play also distributes versions with reduced RTP, 95.52% and 94.52% according to industry reviews, so the number that matters is the one shown in the rules of the game you have open.

Big Bass Vegas 1000 rules showing medium volatility, 96.53% theoretical RTP and bets from 0.10 to 375.00

The max win is capped in the rules: once the total win of a free spins round reaches 10,000x the bet, the round ends, as the screenshot in the previous section shows.

Industry reviews quote a hit frequency close to 13.6% and free spins roughly once every 113 spins on average. The game does not display those figures, so treat them as a reference. RTP is a long-run theoretical average and does not describe what will happen in your session.

Big Bass Vegas 1000 demo: what to try in free play

The demo on this page uses play credits and the same rules. I would use it for three things: counting how many spins the round takes to arrive with and without Ante Bet, seeing how often a big fish is left without a fisherman, and buying the round several times to notice how much the result varies.

If you later play with money, decide beforehand how much you are prepared to lose and stick to it. No betting pattern changes the odds of the game.

The game runs in HTML5 in the browser, with nothing to download. In portrait the reels take the centre, the spin button sits below, and the Ante Bet and the two buy options are arranged on either side.

Big Bass Vegas 1000 vs Bonanza 1000 and Splash 1000

All three share the grid, 10 lines and money fish of up to 1,000x. The risk and the way the round progresses are what change.

The figures for the other two come from their published specifications and may vary by version. If you are after the highest possible win, Vegas 1000 is the least suitable of the three; if you prefer steadier sessions, it is the best fit.

Big Bass Vegas 1000 pros and cons

What I like

  • Two independent meters: more ways to retrigger the round
  • Medium volatility, unusual in the 1000 line
  • Ante Bet at a moderate cost compared with the buys
  • Clear in-game rules, with RTP stated per mode
  • Dynamite, hook and bazooka rescue empty spins

What I do not like

  • Money fish are not collected in the base game
  • The 10,000x win cap is the lowest in the 1000 line
  • Reduced-RTP versions exist
  • The 450x buy is expensive and highly variable
  • Mechanics almost identical to Double Down Deluxe

Big Bass Vegas 1000 frequently asked questions

  • What is the max win in Big Bass Vegas 1000?

10,000x the bet, according to the game's rules. When a free spins round reaches that total it ends at once.

  • What is the difference between the red and the blue fisherman?

None in what they collect by themselves. Each colour fills its own meter and has its own multiplier, which rises to 2x, 3x and 10x with every four fishermen of that colour.

  • Do money fish pay in the base game?

No. Their values are collected only in free spins and only when a Fisherman Wild lands on the same spin. In the base game the fish pays as a regular line symbol.

  • How many free spins can you build up?

The round starts with 15, 20 or 25 spins. Each meter can retrigger it three times with 10 extra spins, so the theoretical maximum is 85 spins.

  • How much does it cost to buy the round?

The standard buy costs 100x the base bet and the Super Free Spins buy 450x. With Ante Bet switched on the buys are disabled. Not every jurisdiction allows feature buys.

  • Is the RTP the same at every casino?

No. The standard value drops by one hundredth with Ante Bet, and versions with lower RTP exist. The actual value is shown in the rules of the game you have open.

  • Can I try Big Bass Vegas 1000 at no cost?

Yes. The demo on this page runs on play credits, with no registration and no deposit. Nothing you win or lose in it has any cash value.

  • What are the minimum and maximum bets?

The version I checked runs from 0.10 to 250 per spin, and up to 375 with Ante Bet. Each operator can set different limits.
